Insurance & Billing

With a patient-centered focus, Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center strives to make the billing and insurance process as simple and straightforward as possible. We understand that navigating health insurance matters can often be complex or challenging. That is why we are here to provide the insight and direction you need, helping you feel confident about each step.

Maintaining relationships with several insurance companies, we make sure to protect our patients and make sure they are treated appropriately and fairly. When you come to our Los Angeles surgical center for treatment, we carefully explain your financial responsibilities ahead of time and provide answers to any questions you may have.

What to Bring to Your Surgery

You will need to make sure that you bring all insurance cards and documents with you so that we can properly process your insurance papers. If there are any amounts not covered by your insurances or deductibles, those must be paid on the day of surgery.

It is important to note that our surgery center fees only cover the use of the facility, not the laboratory, surgeon, X-ray, anesthesiologist, or additional fees. You can expect to be billed separately for these costs.

Our insurance networks include the following:

  • Blue Cross
  • Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Aetna
  • Medicare
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • All out-of-network (OON) insurances

Insurance Information to Bring

Our staff will bill your primary and secondary insurance carriers (or governmental agency) directly on your behalf. We request that you bring your most current insurance or similar card with you on the day of your surgery. Bring all pertinent insurance information, including secondary insurance carrier information, as well as a photo ID for validation.

Make sure you are aware of any admission policies in place within your insurance plan. If you fail to obtain a physician referral, second opinion, or similar step, you may have your benefits reduced.

Special Financial Arrangements

Patients who do not have any insurance coverage may be asked to pay part of their fees in advance. We realize, however, that some patients may need a special financial arrangement. If you would like to learn more about alternative methods of payment accepted at Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center, contact our office today. We accept cash, cashier’s checks, personal checks, and credit cards. MasterCard, Visa, and American Express are accepted with credit card approval.
